Hi Adam,
Write the music to these hip, very funny Jewish styled musicals. Maybe, the new 'Fiddler on the Roof'' that needs you klezmer, jazz type music. Click www.SidneyGoldbergWriter.com and you'll see I write up a storm: book and lyrics to 20 musicals. Six have been completed by some of the most accomplished composers (see bio) and are currently under consideration, the rest are waiting to be composed by you.
“That Bestseller," is a funny and sexual story about how the Bible was supposedly written by two starving meshugeneh brothers, Abie and Leyzer, 5,000 years ago. They were writers when barely anyone could read, so how could they not be starving? Don't ask me, ask their wives who are sick and tired of eating gruel and corn, they want a piece of meat! And it better be a steak! Or no schtupping.
One of the funniest musicals ever written about nutty, meshugeneh Jews; like Abraham, fulfilling his covenant with God by circumcising himself: "Abraham's Cut," is a hysterically funny story about the last Mohel, circumciser in the Bronx. There are three desperate candidates who have come to be circumcised and are petrified when they finally meet the Mohel in the second ACT, who turns out to be wearing very thick glasses, his hands shake and says he like to drink bourbon which he is drinking before all his circumcisions. They are petrified and they want to back out but the Mohel locks the door and won’t let them out until they give him their ‘beauties’. A comedy ala Mel Brooks that they won’t forget.
Both screenplays may be viewed on my website.

Adam,
Congratulations on your web presence/achievements, deployment of sample music (works through my iTunes!), overall message. Jazz/casualness/folklore qualities in the music brings intrinsic, addictive components that keeps me/my kid motivated to learn an instrument/have fun in music given all the obligations today. Living in New Haven, but still have Maine connections.

Hey - I was just wondering, is "Stuffed Avacado" included on your new cd?

Wow - was checking out Laurie Berkner's website, and found you! Cool. Of course, I think of you every time I have quinoa - you turned me on to it in a veggie place in Jamaica Plain. That was the last I saw of you... alas. Me? How kind of you to ask! Married 10 years, mommy to two glorious, soulful boys - 7 and 2. Those are their ages, not their names. It was great to stumble upon you in my quest for superior music for my boys - so glad to see you're doing well. Peace!

Yo Mr. B! How's your summer coming? I was out in Wyoming for a month and I've spent the last two weeks in Burlington, VT with Sam. Caught some of the Jazz Festival up in Montreal. I'm coming back to the city this weekend for the rest of the summer (before I head back to Michigan in Sep) and some of the guys and I are just trying to play. Are you playing around at all? Check out this site I just made to pick up some gigs. Catch you back at home man. Hope you're doing well.
